Education & Outreach

"Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela

Only 1 in 3 Canadians understand what sexual consent means. (Canadian Women’s Foundation, 2015).

Sexual violence affects us all. It causes significant trauma. It has a physical, mental, emotional and financial impact not only on individuals, but also on our community and our society at large. One of the best ways to prevent sexual violence is to educate others in a proactive and engaging way.

Education

Amelia Rising offers educational workshops geared toward raising awareness and inspiring a shift to a culture of consent, equity, respect, healthy relationships, gender, sexuality, body image and safety. Our informative workshops are designed toward creating dialogue, understanding sexual assault and consent, healthy relationships, building capacity, and violence prevention. Workshops are a proactive way to promote prevention and awareness for students, teachers, parents, businesses and other community organizations.
