Support4Survivors is a program funded by the Department of National Defence which provides specialized, confidential support services for current and former members of the defence community and their family members.

These individual counselling sessions are for those who have experienced military sexual misconduct or any form of violence, sexual, and/or gender-based or intimate partner violence. Sessions can be held in-person, over the phone, or via video chat. Sessions can be held anonymously.

Amelia Rising does not report to the chain of command.

What does military sexual misconduct support look like?

  • Being believed, feeling heard, feeling validated and reassured that survivors are not to blame for what happened
  • Being offered trauma-informed services: supporting survivors to understand trauma and how it impacts their lives
  • Helping survivors to build resilience and develop coping skills
  • Client-directed advocacy
