Board of Directors Membership

Please see below for more information and instructions for how to submit an application Amelia Rising is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected annually from and by our Centre Members.

The monthly time commitment is approximately 5 hours per month and includes monthly board meetings, plus committee meetings and organizational support.  The Board of Directors meets on the third Tuesday each month at 6:30 PM, plus adhoc committee meetings.  The Board is currently meeting virtually and occasionally in person.

We are looking for the following relevant skills, knowledge and perspectives: 

  • Law: Legal professionals who can provide guidance on regulatory matters and strategic legal advice.
  • Policy: Individuals with a background in policy, advocacy, or community relations who can help shape our organization’s policies and approaches to important issues.
  • Fundraising: Experienced fundraisers who can help us secure the resources needed to achieve our mission and expand our impact. Grant writing experience is an asset. 
  • Finance: Financial experts who can assist to provide oversight, strategic financial planning, and ensure the financial health and sustainability of our organization.
  • Counselling: Individuals with experience delivering trauma-informed counselling services.
